2020 Projects

1. “Ulutaia Manaia” (Language in Literature and Speech)
~ by CCCAS UTUMEA YOUTH ORGANIZATION 

The goal of this project is to create an enthusiastic spirit in the audience to learn the history in the Samoan Language Topics. There is so much knowledge and wisdom the elders hold, which is vital to the future generation, and our hope is to teach our youth today of the importance of cultural values through our Samoan Language.

2. “ALOFA: A holistic approach to healthy living”

~ by the TAUAITALA FOUNDATION

This project promotes awareness in the community about healthy living, with an emphasis on using traditional Samoan foods as the main source of nutrition just like how our ancestors were in the past.

3. “Using our Past to Influence and Educate the Future”

~ by the Iakina Seventh Day Adventist Church

The Iakina Seventh Day Adventist Church created a project that propose and develop methods to educate and motivate children about the importance of healthy eating, good eating habits, nutritional values, and staying active. These methods will incorporate cultural traditions that have proven to benefit our ancestors in the past.

4. “To’omaga Saogalemu/Safe Sanctuary Spaces “~

by the I.C.A.N Window of Hope

The ultimate goal of this project is to create and sustain physical safe sanctuary spaces of enrichment for the Once Young (OY) of yesterday and the Young Ones (YO) of today through development of social, educational and culturally specific safe intergenerational pathways to secure safe places to practice connections among these groups. The pathways will enable the project participants to build healthy relationships amongst themselves.
