The Tatou Faitau (Let’s Read) project is to provide a lively, engaging, distant-learning read-alouds for school aged kids and parents who are at home during the COVID19 shutdown through means of a programming schedule with local television broadcasting and the social media Facebook page. Read alouds models fluent reading skills in both Samoan and non-Samoan languages, builds vocabulary and creates appreciation for local artists and local authors. In alignment with Humanities objectives, we are focusing on Literature and Language.
